Hailing from Atari village in Bharatpur’s Nadbai, Bhajan Lal Sharma was born to Kishan Swaroop Sharma and Gomati Devi. From RSS to Chief Minister

Sharma's political odyssey began during his school days with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), where he actively engaged through its student wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Progressing through the ranks, he became the district co-convener and Co-Zila Pramukh. Transitioning to the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, he achieved the position of sarpanch in his native village at a remarkable age of 27.

A stalwart within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bhajan Lal Sharma has served as the General Secretary of the party in Rajasthan for an impressive fourth consecutive term. Sharma's electoral journey faced challenges early on, with an unsuccessful bid in the 2003 Assembly election from the Nadbai constituency. In a remarkable turnaround, he emerged victorious in the 2023 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, securing a mandate from the Sanganer Assembly constituency.

 

Ascension to Chief Ministerial Office

On December 12, 2023, Bhajan Lal Sharma, a first-time MLA, was appointed as the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
